tips

you don't have to follow everything according to how i say BUT (you should)
don't fight over carrd coding. it's not worth it at all
in the end of the day it's useless. who cares.
don't make it too complex
don't make it s you have to click 96 images to get to the dni. if you'll ramble about your interests, hypfx, delusions, whatever at least have a section with the dni that's EASY TO READ.
don't use these resources:
glitch/shaky animation (they're on my resource crd in case it's a private carrd for people who won't be bothered, but it causes headaches not only for most other people, but for me as well.)
cursive font, even if bold.
be original
Taking inspo from other people is okay, but not a need. try using underrated palettes.
navigation > aesthetic
a simple '1 2 3' to change sections is ok, but don't make them extremely hard to click. a complex carrd with a ton of embeds is fine as long as i can get straight to the point.
don't overdo it
the more embeds you use the longer it takes to load your carrd or change sections. decorations and absolute positioning are fine, just don't use everything you find in a resource carrd all at once.
oversharing/undersharing is an issue
you should never put your illnesses, triggers or delusions in your carrd if they have the potential to trigger you. the internet isn't fun and friendly. if you must, make people ask for it. people you TRUST.
another issue with oversharing might be a small scrollbox. make it a optional section, a big scrollbox or a scrollbox that expands upon clicking.
undersharing shouldn't be an issue, but something you should always specify is if you're white, allistic or singlet.
take a break when making complex carrds my back hurts so much
low/high quality
there is no such thing as a 'bad carrd', 'bad coding' or 'low quality'. these are little pages to talk about yourself, stop talking about carrds as if anyone in real life knows or cares about them. go outside.
changing urls
if you're a popular carrd such as a resource carrd changing your url means you are gone. forever. unless you give a warning a few weeks before. it's not bad to change urls but don't be confused when everyone thinks your carrd pro ran out
have fun!
if you made a huge carrd with 9532 sections but you spent 48 hours in front of a computer it's not as satisfying as you think it is.
don't put important info in marquees
learn color theory
not neccesary if you're making a simple carrd- it doesnt have to be aesthetic- however, if your carrd mixes colors between black-white-neon, you need to learn to complement the color. the literal definition of complementing the color reads 'two hues that when next to each other create the feeling of a shadow or light'. this is essential in order for it to be easy to read.
hiding 'made in carrd'
the watermark is whatever the top text is. use this to your advantage.
managing fonts
don't use fonts that carrd doesn't support- they are, indeed, hard for screenreaders to read.
overdecoration
these ARCHiVE crds with the damn log in buttons and password and username and "history" and "recent media" and shit all in one-two pages with 5 containers each page are ANNOYING and extremely confusing. i've heard it's hard to read especially if you're disabled as well. please at least add an alt carrd
using marquees
image marquees are really nice, i personally use them for stamps. don't put important info in marquees or newsticker though- your name/s in marquees is fine just?
stick to a certain palette
